Dr Amar Latif

We are delighted to announce that Dr Amar Latif has joined the practice as a half-time GP. He qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2009, and has worked across the Thames Valley region since then. More specifically, he has worked at a variety of practices within Oxfordshire for the last 4 years.

He has a special interest in joint injections, medical student training and clinical commissioning. He is currently the Clinical Lead for Long-Term Conditions at Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, which covers Diabetes, Respiratory and Cardiovascular medicine.

When not at work, he enjoys a variety of roles supporting his local community, including football coach (FA Level 1 accredited), cricket coach (ECB Level 2 accredited) and scout leader. He lives with his wife in Oxford, and they have a passion for travelling, having undertaken a 9-month round the world trip in 2016!

Improved Novel VaccIne CombinaTion InflUenza Study (INVICTUS) – a thank you to Eynsham Medical Group

Eynsham Medical Group was the top recruiting practice for this research study. We have received the following message from the team:

We wanted to say a huge thank you from the INVICTUS trial team for supporting the study. This is the first time the PC-CTU has recruited such a large number of participants in a short period of time. Our target was 500, and we managed to exceed this with a final total of 812 participants recruited at 6 GP practices, and a further 50 recruited at the Jenner Institute. This is a great achievement, especially considering the later start date. Without your team and patients this would not have been possible. Eynsham recruited a grand total of 159 participants, almost doubling the target of 80 minimum!
